I have been on a bit of a blogging hiatus, but I am back with one absolutely amazing wedding! These two beautiful people tied the knot in New Hamburg, ON. It was an amazing day filled with laughter, tears, and truly great people. Here are a few shots from the day, Enjoy!
Wilder Dry Goods
Before Randi and I headed out to Thailand we connected with the local boys of Wilder Dry Goods, based in Winnipeg. They made us up two bags specifically designed for traveling and withstanding the beating that often accompanies backpacking. Both of these bags are cut and sewn entirely in their Winnipeg sewing shop and are as much art as incredibly durable. While we were out on a weekend getaway to Ko Chang with our friend Stefan (pictured below) I decided to snap a few photos of the bags in action! Enjoy
Kayla & Scott : Engagement
A beautiful shoot with too amazing friends of mine!
Jordan & Angela: Engagment
Had a great afternoon braving the cold for about 5 minutes for a awesome winter forest shot, then continueing the rest of the shoot at CMU.
Kevin & Maxine: Engagement
Last weekend, Kevin & Maxine and I, headed over to the Exchange Church in downtown Winnipeg. We found solace in the warm church among warm company as we escaped the bitter cold outside. The shoot was spent wandering around the building and laughing the afternoon away!
James & Christina: Engagment
Skating down the Red & Assiniboin in the heart of winter, pretty much as Canadian as it gets! James and Christian were a really fun couple to shoot and our afternoon together was a great way to celebrate the Louis Riel Long Weekend!
The Edge
The Edge Skatepark is truly an amazing place. It's the longest running indoor skatepark in Canada (20 plus years) and without question, one of the best youth programs in Winnipeg. This is due to the extremely committed staff and volunteers who love and serve this much needed community. This summer, they moved from their old building on Pacific and Lily, to a beautiful new building on 333 King Street. The move was not without tearful goodbyes from people who had spent the better part of the last decade calling this old building "home". I was asked to take a few photos to hold on to the memory of the old edge building. This is a small sample of what I experienced.
The Edge will be having a book launch on Feb.12 at 7 p.m. at McNally Robinson. The book is a collaboration of text by Cliff Heide and will feature photographs from a handful of great Winnipeg photographers: Dan Neufeld, Anders Homenick, Cam Nikkel, and myself. Please come and help support this important part of our city.
Steph & Darryl - Just for Fun
And so much fun it was! Last Sunday I drove out to Portage La Prairie to take a few photos of Steph and Darryl at their beautiful home. We also decided to brave - 30 weather to grab some photos at the diversion. Enjoy!
Thom Bargen New Years Party!
Neum&Meg Wedding
Neum and Meg are two great friends of mine, I have known them both for years! Its also great to shoot with people you share so many memories with. They might deny it, but I feel I am responsible for the wedding you see in these photos! It was a great day with a first look on Arlington bridge, photos in the train yard and the fields around Niverville. The night ended with a classic Neum dance party! Thanks again guys for letting me part of your day.
