I left India but my heart stayed there. Out of all the amazing countries I have been able to visit throughout the years, this place really captivated me and has me longing to go back. India is a place of life, love and sensory overload. Usually the first thing people ask me about India is related to the poverty, or numerous social issues this country faces. That is a real part of this place, but there is also so much beauty, and love and celbration that permeates daily life here. The best way I can describe it is that India is a country of contrasts that fully embraces what it means to be human and does not conform, it simply is.
This is the first part of a two part blog post, I hope you enjoy a small glimpse into my time there.
